Race R. Hobbs
Race was born in Ft Smith Arkansas and raised in Ft Smith most all his life. Fort Smith Arkansas will forever be known as ‘Hell On the Border.” Fort Smith was founded in 1817 as a military post, but the Army abandoned the first Fort Smith in 1824 and moved 80 miles further west to Fort Gibson. Army sutler and land speculator John Rogers (who some genealogists claim to be an ancestor to 20th-century Oklahoma comedian Will Rogers) bought up former government-owned lands and promoted growth of the new civilian town of Fort Smith, eventually influencing the federal government to re-establish a strong military presence at Fort Smith during the era of Indian Removal and the Mexican War.
Fort Smith is also home to the ‘Hangin’ Judge‘!
Judge Isaac Parker served as US District Judge from 1875-1896. He was nicknamed the “Hanging Judge” because in his first term after assuming his post he tried eighteen people for murder, convicted fifteen of them, sentenced eight of those to die, and hanged six of them on one day. Over the course of his career in Fort Smith, Parker sentenced 160 people to hang. Of those, 79 actually were executed on the gallows. Judge Parker represented the only real law in the rough-and-tumble frontier border town. His courthouse is now a National Historic Site where “More men were put to death by the U.S. Government… than in any other place in American history.”

IN Race’s final year with MUFON, he was promoted to the Sr. Public Relations Director for the State. Race really enjoyed volunteering for MUFON and Researching the UFO subject and has met some of the finest human beings out there as a result of working with MUFON. One of those being his best friend & Co-Host on EyE Witness Radio, Royce Fitzgerald. Race met Royce at a West Central Section Arkansas MUFON meeting Race was holding in Fort Smith where Royce revealed a sighting he had as a young boy for the first time openly to others. Race was very proud to learn about Royce’s interest in UFO’s and almost instantly, they became great friends, working together on a passion that drives them both! The UFO Subject. “I have every faith in the Field Investigators doing the real work for the organization however I feel I have learned all I ever will from the Mutual UFO Network and find the need to broaden my horizons in the field of Ufology.”
Today, Race is one of thousands, perhaps millions of people that have a true interest in the search for the truth regarding the UFO Phenomenon. The search for the truth and helping the citizens in and around the community he lives in is some of the most worthwhile work one can do if you ask him. “I continue to look forward to the day we all know the truth about what has clearly been invading the air space, over our cities and towns and our military installations and country sides with absolute impunity. One thing is for certain, UFO’s have been here, UFO’s are here, and every day citizens are seeing them! Someone has to find out what it is, The UFO Mystery, and I look forward to help creating the most Advanced Civilian UFO Investigations Team possible for everyday qualified people with a true passion for the TRUTH!” Keep listening for new information on a brand new initiative in UFO Investigations and Transparency!
Royce was born in Tulsa, OK in 1962. It wasn’t many years after that his artistic abilities became apparent and from that time on, art and creativity have been his mainstay. From adolescence Royce has been taught and trained to become a professional artist and his passion compelled him to follow the commercial art path rather than the fine art path, in which he has made his living since the late 1970′s and early 1980′s.
Another strong influence in Royce’s life was the Christian church to which he belonged for over 30 years. During that time his passion and hunger grew for life’s deeper issues as he studied and sought out answers and understanding regarding human spirituality and the pursuit of eternal life. This path proved to be the most valuable blessing of all.
One evening in the late 1960′s Royce’s first UFO sighting occurred in West Tulsa while at a family picnic. His recollection is that both he and his mother watched an object pass overhead in the darkening sky. The structure was not apparent, however, Royce remembers the ring of lights that traveled around the objects underside as it silently glided by. Since that moment he was secretly fascinated by the phenomenon and only revealed the sighting publicly at his first MUFON meeting in Fort Smith, Arkansas where he and his wife currently reside.
Section Director Race Hobbs and Royce became fast friends and together studied to become certified Field Investigators for MUFON, and did pass the test to receive certification in May 2011. Committed to the MUFON mission of “analytical and scientific study of UFOs for the benefit of humanity”, Royce is active in efforts to increase awareness and membership for the Arkansas West Central Section, as well as investigating UFO reports in the local region.
